Holy Apostles Orthodox Mission in Mechanicsburg, PA, will host the 8th Annual YAF Retreat on Saturday, April 6th. The featured presenter will be Fr. Theodore Petrides from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Stroudsburg, PA, who will speak on the topic “Looking into the Mirror: Prayer as a Means of Acquiring Self Knowledge and Knowing God.”
The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service and will include a Lenten luncheon and two sessions with Fr. Theodore. The retreat will “officially” end at 4:00 p.m., but those who would like to extend the fellowship are welcome to join us for dinner at a local restaurant (please bring money) and Vespers at 6:00 p.m.
Although the retreat is sponsored by the Young Adult Fellowship, and the young adult members of the Church are the inspiration for this event, these events inevitably draw interest from persons of all different ages, and the “younger” adults have been enriched by the perspective of our elder fathers, brothers, and sisters in Christ. So anyone may come!
There is a suggested donation of $10 for registration, payable on the day of the retreat. Registration is appreciated (but not required) for those who are attending the lunch. Please contact Phil at philipgraybill@gmail.com or 814-935 6416 with your name and the number attending in your group.
