Your Prayers Requested for Fr. Peter Gillquist

The Very Rev. Archpriest Peter E. Gillquist — well known author, evangelist, and beloved friend of Holy Trinity and the Penn State Orthodox Christian Fellowship — has been diagnosed with stage IV metastatic melanoma. Last weekend it was discovered that Fr. Peter’s cancer is much more extensive than first thought, and he has been placed under hospice care as a result.

Please keep Fr. Peter, his wife Marilyn, and his family in your prayers. Fr. Peter is a two-time cancer survivor, having survived stage III melanoma in 1999 and another bout in 2010.

Please go to the parish website of All Saints Antiochian Orthodox Church in Bloomington, IN, where Fr. Peter is a member and where his son, Fr. Peter Jon Gillquist, is the pastor: http://allsaintsbloomington.org/our-pastor/fr-peter-seniors-health/ to share your personal reflections and stories.

Update: The servant of God, the Archpriest Peter departed this life at 9:20 p.m. surrounded by family. He has finished the race. Memory eternal! “Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life!”
